Many of our small finds are currently being researched by specialists, including the stone and ceramic artefacts, and the potentially important metalwork from the site. We were recently delighted to receive a report, by Ewan Campbell of Glasgow University, on the very unusual miniature glass bead we uncovered in 2013. He has confirmed that the find is a extremely rare in a Scottish context and is of a type better known from Anglo-Saxon pagan burials; very small beads, sometimes referred to as spacer beads, often strung with others in a necklace.
